The Salvator Mundi is a celebrated painting attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, made around 1500. The work depicts Christ as “Saviour of the World”, his right hand raised in blessing and his left holding a crystal orb, a symbol of the universe. The serene, penetrating gaze of Jesus, combined with the master's characteristic delicate chiaroscuro, creates an atmosphere of mystery and spirituality. The refinement of the details, such as the curls of the hair and the transparency of the orb, bears witness to Leonardo's technical mastery and his interest in optics and light.
