The artwork

Salvator Mundi is a famous painting attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, created around 1500. The work depicts Christ as the "Savior of the World," with his right hand raised in blessing and his left holding a crystal globe, symbolizing the universe. Jesus's serene and penetrating gaze, combined with the master's characteristic delicate chiaroscuro, creates an atmosphere of mystery and spirituality. The refinement of the details, such as the curls of his hair and the transparency of the globe, testify to Leonardo's technical mastery and interest in optics and light.

After centuries of neglect and restoration, the painting was rediscovered in the 21st century, becoming the most expensive work ever sold at auction in 2017. Salvator Mundi represents a perfect synthesis of art, faith, and science, embodying Leonardo's ideal of universal harmony.
