The “Saint Catherine of Alexandria” by Artemisia Gentileschi depicts the young Christian martyr with the wheel of her martyrdom and the palm, symbols of her sacrifice. Her serene yet proud face reflects spiritual strength and female courage, central themes in Artemisia’s art. The warm light and rich colours enhance the dignity and beauty of the subject.
