An original and rare view of the Scuola di San Marco on the Rio dei Mendicanti in Venice, made by Bernardo Bellotto. In the foreground, seen from the side, is the splendid four-storey palace housing the Scuola, with balconies overlooking the Rio dei Mendicanti. Also in the foreground is the landing stage of the Scuola, with moorings for boats and people on the small quay in front of the palace. The picture, an oil on canvas, is dated 1741.
