An original and rare 18th-century engraving of the Rialto Bridge, by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto, in pen and brown ink on paper. In the foreground is the Grand Canal, busy with boats, surrounded by fine Venetian palazzi. Further back is the covered Rialto Bridge with its shops, a landmark for Venetians. The engraving is undated. Canaletto produced two other versions of this work, which is held at the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
