Original 18th-century engraving depicting the Proclamation Stone in Venice, created by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. In the foreground there is the square, with people gathered near the Doge's Palace, and near one side of the Basilica where the stone is located. In the background there are the two columns of Venice and the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The sky is cloudy.
The engraving is undated. Other variations of this work by Canaletto exist.
