The painting entitled "Portrait of the Third Wife" is a work by Giovanni Fattori, made in 1905 in oil on canvas. The work is currently on display at the Museo civico Giovanni Fattori in Livorno.
In this painting, the Macchiaioli painter portrayed his third wife, Fanny Martinelli. Fattori married Fanny after being widowed by his second wife, Marianna Bigazzi. The marriage between Fattori and Fanny Martinelli did not last long, as she died in 1908, a few months before Fattori himself. The portrait is signed and dated in the lower right corner. The work was shown at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Milan in 1906.
