An original and very fine photograph depicting the Portrait of Margaret van Eyck, painted by Jan van Eyck.
Painted in 1439 in oil on panel, it is one of the last works of the Flemish master (who in fact died two years later) and one of the very first European portraits of a painter's wife. It is in Bruges, at the Groeningemuseum.
