A luminous and original view of the town of Pirna seen from the Elbe, by Bernardo Bellotto. Prominent on the right is the town with its houses, while the castle stands on a small hill. The river Elbe is the main element of the painting, and the town of Pirna is mirrored in its waters, crossed by a few boats. The sky is clear but there are a few clouds on the horizon.
The picture is dated around 1756. Another variant of this work exists with different colours.
The painting is on display at the San Diego Museum of Art, USA.
