Original 18th-century engraving depicting a city across the river, created by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. In the foreground there is the riverbank, with a road, busy with carts, and a shrine. On the opposite bank of the river, the city develops, with several palaces, churches, and bell towers clearly visible. On the left side of the painting, we find the remarkable detail of a large tree. The sky is cloudy.
The engraving is undated. Other variations of this work by Canaletto exist.
