This work immediately evokes Impressionism, with quick, vibrant brushstrokes that capture light and colour with an almost ethereal vividness. The subject, St Peter's Basilica, emerges with majestic force from the background, while an indistinct crowd of human figures moves forward, as if drawn by the warm, enveloping light of sunset or dawn. The golden and rosy hues of the sky lend a transcendent quality, transforming the scene into an almost mystical vision.

The choice of colours, dominated by luminous yellows and oranges, amplifies the sense of the sacred and invites the viewer to immerse themselves in an atmosphere that is at once spiritual and joyful. The architectural details of the basilica, though recognisable, are deliberately blurred, letting the light itself define their form and volume. This Impressionist echo, which focuses on immediate perception rather than strict realism, makes the work particularly evocative and dynamic.
