An original 18th-century view depicting Northumberland House, by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. The small square in front of the buildings stands out, with scenes of everyday life, carriages and an equestrian monument. On the right is Northumberland House, lit by the morning sun. The sky is drawn without clouds. This painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1752. Canaletto created other versions of this work.
The artwork is part of a private collection.
