Original 18th-century view of Northumberland House, painted by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. Highlights include the small square in front of the buildings with scenes of daily life, carriages, and an equestrian monument. On the right there is the Northumberland House illuminated by the morning sun. The sky is depicted cloudless. This painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1752. Other variations of this work by Canaletto exist.
