“Mural on Indian Red Ground” is a chromatic vortex in which the red base of the canvas pulses beneath an intricate web of drips, spatters and gestural marks. The red, warm and earthy, acts as an unstable ground, while overlapping layers of paint in white, black and metallic tones converse in a dance of energy and controlled chaos. There are no recognisable figures or central focal points: the whole surface is caught up in continuous movement, which envelops viewers and compels them to move their gaze, to lose themselves in its depths.
