The map illustrates Wesel with its defensive walls along the entire perimeter. Inside the walls, the city unfolds with its streets, squares, monuments, and churches. It is a Wesel hypothetically viewed from above, with its cultivated fields outside the city.
The map is part of a private collection.
Georg Braun, also known as Brunus or Bruin, was a German cartographer.
