Map of the city of Palma from the late sixteenth century created by Joris Hoefnagel. It is a colored engraving.
The map shows the city of Palma as it was urbanistically organized in the late sixteenth century. One can observe the fortification of the walls, along the entire perimeter, in the shape of a nine-pointed star (bastions). Within the perimeter of the walls, the city develops with regular and concentric street divisions. This is a Palma hypothetically seen from above. On the lower part of the map, in the two corners, there are two inscriptions. Meanwhile, in the upper corners, there are Palma banners.
Georg Hoefnagel or Hufnagel was a Flemish painter, cartographer, and illustrator.

Our reproductions are faithful to the original and printed on fine Amalfi paper.
It is a paper made exclusively from cotton fibers, thick and naturally porous, yet soft to the touch, with characteristic deckled edges that attest to its artisanal craftsmanship.
