Historical map of London from the late 16th century, created in 1572 by Joris Hoefnagel. It is a hand-coloured engraving.
The map shows London divided by the Thames and organised into districts according to the town plan then in force. As can be seen, there is extensive urban development on the upper side of the river, while green areas dominate the lower part. In the lower part there are also two inscriptions, while in the upper corners are the coats of arms of London.
Georg Hoefnagel or Hufnagel, was a Flemish painter, cartographer and illustrator.
