The map illustrates the geopolitical arrangement of Europe after the Peace of Tilsit in 1807, when Napoleon and Tsar Alexander I redefined the continent's borders. The extensive French sphere of influence is notable: the Kingdom of Westphalia, the Duchy of Warsaw, and the satellite states consolidated Napoleonic control from the Atlantic to the Vistula. Prussia was drastically reduced in size, while the Russian Empire advanced westward, establishing a temporary Franco-Russian alliance. The United Kingdom remained isolated but dominant at sea, highlighted as a maritime power opposing the continental blockade. The map, from J. R. Green's "Short History of the English People" (1893), reflects a British perspective on the new post-Tilsit European balance of power.

Our reproductions are faithful to the original and printed on fine Amalfi paper.

It is a paper composed exclusively of cotton fibers, thick and naturally porous, yet soft to the touch, with the characteristic deckled edges that bear witness to its artisanal craftsmanship.

It is still made today according to ancient medieval techniques, in the workshops of Amalfi.
