The map shows the British Isles, with the three kingdoms distinguished by three different colours. All the landing points of the islands, the main rivers, the mountain ranges and the most important towns are shown. In the upper left corner is an inscription within a frame of allegorical figures.
Guillaume Delisle, also known as Guillaume de l'Isle, was a French cartographer and geographer.
