Historical map of California land grants created by Hal Blakeley. This is a watercolor with graphite and colored pencil on paper.
The map represents the territory of California, divided according to land grants issued by the Government. Each color corresponds to a grant. The map is placed inside a beautiful frame, with some side panels depicting the costumes of the era in California. In the upper left corner, there is a detailed inscription about the land grants. At the bottom of the map, there are some Californian people dressed in period costumes.

Our reproductions are faithful to the original and printed on fine Amalfi paper.
It is a paper made exclusively from cotton fibers, thick and naturally porous, yet soft to the touch, with characteristic deckled edges that attest to its artisanal craftsmanship.
It is still made today according to ancient medieval techniques, in the workshops of Amalfi.
