Map of Bavaria dated 1568 created by Philipp Apian.
The map represents Bavaria as it was organized in the mid-sixteenth century. It is a physical and political map, because in addition to indicating states with different colors, it also describes rivers, wooded areas, mountain ranges, and larger cities. On the right side there is a fantasy drawing.
Philipp Bienewitz, better known as Philipp Apian, was a German cartographer.
