Late nineteenth-century double-hemisphere historical map, created by Pierre Vander. This is a print on paper.
The map represents the world as it was known in the first half of the nineteenth century. Both meridians and parallels are present. The two globes appear suspended amidst clouds.
Outside the hemispheres, battle scenes are depicted (bottom left corner) or other landscapes (other corners).

Our reproductions are extremely faithful to the original and printed on fine Amalfi paper.
It is a paper made exclusively from cotton fibers, thick and naturally porous, yet soft to the touch, with characteristic deckled edges that attest to its artisanal craftsmanship.
It is still made today using ancient medieval techniques in the workshops of Amalfi.
