A beautiful wide-angle view of old Genoa, showing the city and its harbour seen from the sea. The view was published in Augsburg by the heirs of Jeremias Wolff in 1731.
The coat of arms of Genoa can be seen in the upper right corner. Below the image is a legend that precisely lists the city's 57 landmarks.
Wolff was active as a publisher from 1686 to about 1724. After his death, his plates were inherited by his son-in-law, Johan Balthasar Probst, who married Wolff's only daughter.
