The artwork
The Madonna and Child by Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino, painted between 1470 and 1473, is a work that embodies the delicacy and harmony typical of the Italian Renaissance. In the scene, the Madonna holds the Infant Jesus and gazes lovingly at him. The Madonna wears a red gown with a blue mantle, traditional symbols of her purity and royalty.
