An original and very fine photograph depicting the Madonna and Child with the Infant St John the Baptist, painted by Andrea del Sarto.
The panel, of excellent quality, probably entered the collection in 1787; it depicts a young Virgin embracing the Infant Jesus, with St John the Baptist beside them. The painter del Sarto's choice of colours is particularly fine.
