Original and rare 18th-century view of the procession of the Knights of the Bath, painted by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. In the foreground, we can see the small square in front of the large Gothic-style church, with a carpet spread out, and the knights dressed in light red cloaks, walking in procession. Several citizens are watching this unusual parade. There are many knights, and the procession they form is very long. The sky is clear with a few pink clouds on the horizon.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1749. There are several variations of this work created by Canaletto.
