Original and romantic eighteenth-century engraving of a monument under a tree, created by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. The large tree on the right side of the painting stands out, almost seeming to protect the small monument built at its foot. We are near the bank of a small river, in a rural setting, while the city is seen in the distance, with its domes and bell towers. The sky features a few clouds on the horizon.
The engraving is undated. Canaletto created other variations of this work.
