A fine 18th-century depiction of the historic brickworks of Gaeta by Jakob Philipp Hackert. Gaeta, a seaside town, is painted with its harbour, and the goods are laid out on the quay ready for departure. In the foreground are townspeople and two mules used to carry goods, leaving the port. In the background are several boats and mountains. Gaeta's red bricks are stacked up, ready to be transported to their destination.
The painting is on display at the National Museum of San Martino & Certosa, Naples.
