Bring into your home the timeless atmosphere of “Lake Hakone in Sagami Province” by Katsushika Hokusai, one of the most evocative views of the Japanese landscape. This reproduction is made on fine Amalfi paper, chosen to bring out every colour detail and render the visual depth of the original work.
The work belongs to the famous series of landscape views by Katsushika Hokusai, the ukiyo-e master active in the 18th and 19th centuries. It reflects the artist's interest in depicting nature and the iconic places of Japan, with particular attention to atmospheric rendering and perspectival composition. Hakone, an important stopping point along the Tōkaidō road, was known for its evocative scenery and for Lake Ashi. In this print Hokusai synthesises natural elements and visual perception in a balanced, contemplative scene, typical of his artistic maturity.
