Dedication to Queen Elizabeth I dated 1579, taken from a book of maps of England and Wales by Christopher Saxton.
The dedication is written at the base of the throne on which Queen Elizabeth I sits. The queen sits on the imperial throne in a regal pose, in a gown finely decorated with gold. On either side of the throne are two court counsellors. Above the throne is the royal coat of arms.
Christopher Saxton was an English cartographer who produced the first maps of the counties of England and Wales.
