Original historical painting depicting the return of the Neapolitan fleet from the Algiers campaign, painted by Jakob Philipp Hackert. The dominant colors are purple and blue, blending well with both the sky and the sea. There are many people on the dock, many of them relatives of the sailors who embarked. Out at sea, the ships are maneuvering to return to the harbor. Lifeboats are leaving the ships, carrying the sailors who are finally returning to their homeland.
The painting is on display at the Royal Palace of Caserta.
