A marvellous 18th-century view of the Grand Canal looking towards the Rialto Bridge in Venice, by Bernardo Bellotto. In the foreground is the canal, crossed by gondolas and other boats. On the left, in perspective, are the palazzi, bathed in a special light. A few clouds are forming in the sky.
Several versions of this picture exist in different colour tones. The painting is part of a private collection.
