A rare and unique Leonardesque-style sketch painting by Gaspare Vanvitelli, made in pen, brown ink and graphite on two joined sheets of laid paper. The dominant theme of the painting is the trees, depicted with a particular technique.
This picture too is part of the prolific output Vanvitelli produced during his stays in Rome. The painting is a bequest of Lore Heinemann to the National Gallery of Art.
