The artwork
Interesting and historic view of the Freyung district in Vienna, painted by Bernardo Bellotto. The square is prominently featured, with a crowd of people on the left side. Further back in the painting, a beautiful building stands out, with others surrounding the square. In the center of the square, a carriage is depicted. The sky is clear but with some clouds.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1758. Two other variations of this work exist, painted by Bellotto.
The painting is exhibited at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria.
