Rare and original 18th-century view of the flour mill in Venice, painted by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. The small pier and the gently sloping road leading to the mill are prominent. Scenes of everyday life are depicted on the pier, while the canal features the usual boats, some anchored, others maneuvering. Behind the Fonteghetto there are other Venetian buildings, depicted in the distance. The sky is overcast, with dark clouds on the horizon.
The work is dated 1730.
