“The Flame” is a painting that lives on primitive, visceral energy: on a canvas of relatively modest size unfolds a whirl of bold, incandescent brushstrokes. Warm tones — reds, yellows, ochres — mingle with deep blacks and dazzling whites, generating intense contrasts and chromatic vibrations. The forms suggest a glow, a flame that seems to envelop indistinct shapes — perhaps human remains or ghosts — evoking a sense of chaotic transformation. The composition avoids a focal centre: every area takes part in the movement, recalling a continuous flow in which figure and ground merge.
