A splendid and luminous view of a classical landscape painted by Jan Frans van Bloemen between 1720 and 1730. The painting sets two scenes side by side: in the distance, the hilltop village against a mountain backdrop; closer by, three wayfarers portrayed pausing along the way. On the right are tall trees. The light is that of morning, with a clear sky but a few clouds on the horizon
The painting is part of a private collection.
