A rare and original 18th-century engraving depicting an equestrian monument, by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. Prominent is a building on three levels; beside it is the equestrian monument, towering over the landscape and facing the palace, which has flights of steps leading to the upper floor with its large windows. At the foot of the palace and in the square in front are scenes of everyday life. The sky is clear but there are a few clouds on the horizon.
The artwork is undated. Other variants of this work by Canaletto exist.
