Ideal for collectors, a fine perspective view of the church of the Gesù in Rome by Lievin Cruyl. The view is frontal, with the square in the foreground enlivened by carriages and townspeople, while the church is further away but finely portrayed in detail by Cruyl. In the background are Roman palaces, while the two streets leading into the square, separated by the Church of the Gesù, are also prominent. The picture was executed in pen and brown ink with brush and grey and blue wash over stylus and graphite.
