Ideal for collectors, a fine perspective view of the church of Sant’Ignazio in Rome by Lievin Cruyl. Seen from the windowsill of a palace facing the square, the church is finely portrayed at an angle, with some palaces in the background, while all around the square are palaces and the street leading to the centre of Rome. An identical, slightly darker variant of this work exists.
The painting is on display at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
