The artwork
Ideal for collectors: an original and rare view of Piazza Farnese, featuring the square flooded, and of the fountain, made by Lievin Cruyl and dated 1664. Palazzo Farnese stands in the background; the square is seen from a corner of the city and is flooded with water, in which the palazzi along the perimeter of the square are reflected. The painting illustrates a particular moment in the city of Rome, flooded when the River Tiber burst its banks.
