An original and rare 18th-century view of the Feast of San Rocco in Venice, made by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. In the foreground are the Venetian nobles, dressed in their colourful, fine clothes. Further back is the Venetian palace, painted by Canaletto with architectural detail. The sky is clear, with a few white clouds on the horizon.
The picture, an oil on canvas, is undated. Several variants of this painting by Canaletto exist. The work is on display at the National Gallery, London.
