Original and luminous eighteenth-century representation of Punta della Dogana in Venice, painted by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto. The foreground depicts the dock at Punta della Dogana, with boats passing nearby. The Grand Canal is very busy; in the background there is another island, and the bell tower, the largest buildings, and the church can be glimpsed. The sky is clear, with a few white clouds, but it's a fine day.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1724.
