An original and rare painting depicting the Grottes des Chèvres, made by Jakob Philipp Hackert. The animals grazing in front of the entrance to the caves stand out. The sheep are lying near the watchful shepherds. The entrance to the cave lies at the foot of a cliff, with vegetation above it, while on the left side is a large tree casting shade that the animals use to shelter from the sun. At the bottom of the painting is an inscription in French and Italian.
