A wonderful, clear view of Schloss Hof seen from the north side, made by Bernardo Bellotto. Dominating the scene is the marvellous palace, finely painted by Bellotto on the right-hand side of the painting. In the foreground are the splendid Italian gardens, with noble ladies and gentlemen in scenes of everyday life. A detail in the foreground is the carriage arriving at the palace. The day is clear and serene. The picture, an oil on canvas, is dated 1758, and there are other similar depictions with variations in colour.
