The artwork
Original and rare 18th-century engraving of a Venetian palace by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto, executed in black chalk, pen and brown ink, and gray watercolor. In the foreground there is a three-story palace, with a front entrance, a staircase, and a small loggia on the second floor (detail). On the right there is an obelisk overlooking the small square in front of the palace, featuring scenes of daily life. The day is clear, with no clouds.
The work is undated and is part of a private collection.
