In “Campo San Rocco” Canaletto places the Scuola Grande at the centre, with its solemn Renaissance façade, turning the campo into a true urban theatre.
The building dominates the scene like a monumental backdrop, while all around move figures of different social backgrounds: townsfolk, clergy, veiled women, children playing, even a few dogs, conveying the everyday life of the neighbourhood.
The clear morning light enhances the marble and the rhythm of the windows, while the square, broad and almost bare, seems to be preparing for a festival or a procession, suspended between devotion and 18th-century Venetian worldliness.

Our reproductions are extremely faithful to the original and printed on fine Amalfi paper.
It is a paper made exclusively from cotton fibres, thick and naturally porous, yet soft to the touch, with the characteristic deckled edges that bear witness to its handcrafted making.
It is still made today using ancient medieval techniques, in the workshops of Amalfi.
