A romantic and original view of the Arno River with Ponte Vecchio, painted by Bernardo Bellotto. The river, crossed by boats positioned before Ponte Vecchio, dominates the painting. On both banks of the Arno, arranged in perspective, there are the Florentine palaces.
The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1745 approx. and is exhibited at the Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge, UK. Another variant of this work exists.
