A limpid, bright view of a rare example of an architectural capriccio, by Bernardo Bellotto. Prominent is the magnificent two-tier bridge, reflected in the river, with arches and statues joining the palace, divided by the river, to the other bank. The palace is drawn from the side; it too rises over two storeys, with fine arches and statues on the roof. Bellotto paints the sky in pale shades, with a few clouds. The picture is dated 1765.
The painting is on display at the San Diego Museum of Art, USA.
