The artwork
A clear and vivid view of a rare example of an architectural capriccio, created by Bernardo Bellotto. Highlights include the magnificent two-story bridge, reflected in the river, with arches and statues connecting the palace, divided by the river, to the other bank. The palace is drawn from the side, also two stories high, with exquisite arches and statues on the roof. The sky, painted by Bellotto with light shades and a few clouds, is dated 1765.
The painting is exhibited at the San Diego Museum of Art, USA.
