An evocative and transcendent painting recalling an Arcadian landscape, painted with the setting sun by Jakob Philipp Hackert. In the background are mountains with pink hues that merge with the clouds. Dark colours dominate the painting, and the details are hard to make out. The painting, an oil on canvas, is dated 1829.
The painting can be admired at the Schlossmuseum, Schloss Friedenstein, in Gotha, Germany.
