Alexander the Great, born in 356 BC in Pella, the capital of the kingdom of Macedon, was the son of King Philip II and Queen Olympias. From a young age, he received a refined education under the guidance of the philosopher Aristotle, who instilled in him the foundations of Greek culture, a passion for knowledge, and the ambition to unite peoples under a common civilization. Upon his father's death in 336 BC, Alexander ascended the throne and embarked on one of the most extraordinary military campaigns in history, aiming to conquer the Persian Empire.

In less than twelve years, Alexander extended the borders of his kingdom from the Aegean to northern India, through Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Central Asia. He founded many cities, including the famous Alexandria in Egypt, and sought to unite Greek and Eastern cultures, encouraging marriage and integration between peoples. Although he died prematurely in Babylon in 323 BC, at the age of just 32, his legacy was immense: he gave rise to the Hellenistic age and became an enduring symbol of ambition, military strategy, and global vision.
