The work
Publius Aelius Trajan Hadrian , known as Hadrian ( Italica, 24 January 76 – Baiae, 10 July 138), was a Roman emperor of the dynasty of adoptive emperors, who reigned from 117 until his death.
He is considered one of the "good emperors" , according to historian Edward Gibbon. Cultured and passionate admirer of Greek culture , he traveled throughout the empire and enhanced the provinces. He was careful to improve the conditions of the military and had a fortified wall built in Britain, the famous Hadrian's Wall .
Among his most important works we also remember the Pantheon in Rome, Hadrian's Villa in Tivoli and Hadrian's Mausoleum, later Castel Sant'Angelo.
